Project

Charlie Rose, a public television institution, asked Code and Theory to lead a project which would integrate over 4,000 hours of video and content into a intuitive, accessible, robust website.

Approach

We designed and developed the site, including a custom content management system (CMS). This enabled the CR staff to manage content with ease and editorial control. Every guest had a unique page containing an archive of past appearances and biographical information. Social integration of commenting, sharing and purchase of content was integrated.

Challenges

At the time of its launch, charlierose.com was unprecedented in terms of its scope. It was the largest video interview archive on the internet, with free streams of over 4,000 hours of Charlie’s interviews, all easily accessible by guest, topic, date, or keyword.
